FILM BIOGRAPHY

Zadoc Nava spent several years making documentaries, music and current affairs programming for C4 and BBC. He then went on to direct commercials for numerous clients, including Sony, Mercury 121, Lloyds, Emirates, The Guardian, Oxfam and Christian Aid. He also made a number of award-winning short films, including BIG FISH, an impressionistic portrait of his father, José Nava.

In 2018, Zadoc produced
GHOLAM, the critically acclaimed, debut feature film by British-Iranian artist, Mitra Tabrizian, starring Shahab Hosseini (winner of the Grand Jury Best Actor Award at Cannes 2016 for his role in Asghar Farhadi’s Oscar-winning 'A Separation'). Zadoc also produced Tabrizian’s experimental short, THE INSIDER, with text by Booker Prize-winner writer Ben Okri, commissioned to accompany Okri’s adaptation of Camus' THE OUTSIDER at The Coronet Theatre (2018).

In 2017, Zadoc was selected for inclusion on the
Berlin Talent development programme and Co-Production market, at the Berlin International Film Festival. He was long-listed for British Independent Film Awards' Discovery Award (2018) for his producer role on GHOLAM. In 2019 he was included on Film London/Evening Standard LODESTAR inaugural list of 25 of London’s most promising filmmakers and creative talents and invited to attend Creative Europe’s first ever European Co-Production Weekender. 

Zadoc is an Associate Lecturer on the
MA Documentary Film at the London College of Communication/University of the Arts. UAL is Europe's largest specialist art and design university, and ranked 2nd in the world for Art and Design according to the 2019 QS World University Rankings.
